The African Burial Ground: Return to the Past to Build the Future
This site is dedicated to the memorial and educational project at the African Burial Ground in Lower Manhattan, which was rediscovered in 1991. An electronic verison of the archaelogical report from Howard University is available on the site.

"The Music Division of the Library of Congress is pleased to announce the release of a new Web collection focusing on the career of dancer-choreographer Katherine Dunham on the "I Hear America Singing" Web site. The online Katherine Dunham Collection presentation makes available a selection of photographs from the Library of Congress, The Missouri Historical Society, and Southern Illinois University; film and videotape excerpts from Dunham's research and performing career; and selections from the Library's Dunham Legacy Project that document the Dunham dance technique. In addition, a complete inventory of the Collection is included."

In Motion: The African American Migration Experience
A digital project of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, this site contains images, texts, and maps, as well as lesson plans and internet links on black migrations from the 1450s through the present.

The Malcolm X website is launching a new series of monthly updates featuring Malcolm X in dialogue and debate with others, including one on "The Black Muslims: What Do They Believe?" from April 23, 1961 and featuring Malcolm X, James Baldwin, George Schuyler, and C. Eric Lincoln.

The National Black Catholic Congress
First organized by Daniel Rudd in 1899, the National Black Catholic Congress is dedicated to expanding church work among African Americans and improving conditions within the church for African American Catholics. The site contains directories, a calendar of events, and a monthly newsletter.
