Composite Materials

· In Aircraft, light weight translates directly into payload. Light alloys and composite materials are combined in modern aircraft as shown for the Boeing 757-200.
· Problems in reproducibility and manufacturing costs have delayed the wide use of composite aircraft structures, however, their use in aerodynamic components is increasing as experience is gained.
