| MAR-M-200 is a nickel alloy with the nominal composition: (Ni - 0.15C -9.0Cr -12.5W -10Co -5Al -2Ti -1Cu -0.05Zr). In this superalloy, Ni3Al precipitates in a cubic habit in the Ni matrix as shown in the photograph. These precipitates restrict dislocation motion and reduce creep. Dislocation slip through the Ni3Al produces antiphase boundaries that are energetically expensive to form. The precipitates also impeed crack propagation through the material. | |||||||||
