Strength
Index
The strength of a material is a measure of where it can be expected to fail under an applied load. For a tensile loading configuration the ultimate tensile strength is the maximum of the engineering stress/strain curve.

The fracture strength under constant strain rate conditions, the point at which ductile or brittle fracture occurs, is another measure of a material's strength. For brittle materials this may be measured in a three point bending configuration, the fracture point for the material defines its flexural strength.
