December 5, 2001: Snapshot

Seeing the light
By Allen Taylor ’03

On a brilliant November 14, junior Megan Aghazadian was hard at work on her j.p. in Firestone Library. An English major, Aghazadian is writing on the influence of Henrik Ibsen on James Joyce, looking specifically at gender roles in Ibsen’s A Doll’s House and Joyce’s short story “The Dead” for adviser Heather O’Donnell, who is a faculty fellow with the Humanities Council.

When she isn’t studying, Aghazadian, who is from Wilmington, Delaware, is the community service chair for OWL (Organization of Women Leaders), participates in a handful of SVC projects — including tutoring a third grader — and rides horseback and runs.
