A letter from a reader: Brains vs. Bruins

March 19, 2008:

I happened to be in California on business on that great day in 1996 when we beat UCLA (feature, Nov. 21). The headline in the Los Angeles Times sports section the next morning read, "Brains 43, Bruins 41," which evoked Pete Carril's great line about the smart taking from the strong.
