A letter from a reader: Prokofiev's mystery

I was most interested in learning more about Sergei Prokofiev from your recent article (cover story, Sept. 26). The mystery surrounding his decision in 1936 to return to the Soviet Union is deepened when you consider that Prokofiev had been an earnest student of Christian Science. You might wonder how he would confront life in such a blatantly materialistic culture with an outlook so firmly based in Biblical Christianity and the omnipotence of God.
