A letter from a reader entitled: Don't suppress intellectual curiosity

I have no intention of defending either intelligent design or evolution (Letters, March 8). They are both such unbelievable answers to our existence that neither one is comprehensible, both totally beyond our understanding.

However, what is so astounding and disturbing to me is that at a great and prestigious university like Princeton , there is such a major lack of intellectual curiosity and openness that the mere mention of the possibility that there might be another answer than evolution to the existence of the universe and its wonders is suppressed.

I only hope that Princeton is not so closed-minded to other controversial issues that it does not explore all the possible answers, as absurd as many of them may sound.
