organic or antibiotic free
chicken.
•The only USDA criterion for free-range meat is that
“they have some form of
access to the outdoors*,” however
the size of the range or individual
space per animal is not a criterion.
•“Access” does not
equate to actual roaming outdoors.
•Free Range Chickens are permitted to eat whatever is on
the ground in this
“outdoor area.”
•Therefore while
Free-Range Chicken is noble in its objective, there is no guarantee that the animals are fairly treated or
healthier than any other
birds.
