This is a picture of the control console that was originally used to operate the telescope. It is still functional, but now we usually use a computer to control the telescope. The telescope can be operated from this console, from a computer in the control room, and from another computer interface in the dome, near the old console.
The orange electical contacts that provide power to the dome shutter can be seen above the control console, and one of the pulley wheels that help rotate the dome can be seen to the left of the console.
