FACULTY AWARD: Schoene receives 2013 F.W. Clarke Award for geochemistry

Princeton University assistant professor of geosciences Blair Schoene received the 2013 F.W. Clarke Award from the Geochemical Society. Presented since 1972 and named after the "Father of Geochemistry" Frank Clark, the award recognizes early-career scientists who make an outstanding contribution to geochemistry through research on a single topic. Schoene won for his work to improve the accuracy and precision of uranium-lead (U-Pb) geochronology, which he then used to define the assembly and deformational history of the ancient crust of South Africa.
