The Black Student Union

Greetings BSU members, alumni and friends,

I am proud to be a part of the first of many milestones for the Black Student Union (BSU) at Princeton University -- this April we will celebrate the BSU’s five year anniversary. The Black Student Union has undergone tremendous growth during its short history. From the vision of freshman and sophomores to create a centralized voice for students of the African Diaspora, BSU has grown into a dynamic organization with over 100 active members and a rapidly growing alumni network.

Through inventive programming such as the DuBois Series, the creation Black Leaders on Campus (BLOC) and the Leadership and Mentoring Program (LAMP), the Black Student Union has become one of the most proactive student organizations at Princeton University in a short time. It is my hope that our members and supporters will be able to use this anniversary as an occasion to reflect on our great progress and also to begin serious contemplation of BSU’s future. Join us for an evening of dinner and dancing as we celebrate BSU and Black activism at Princeton.

Warm regards,
Ayana N. Harry
