The following messages are prefixed by a severity code. The severity codes are as follows:


Severity Code Meaning
blank Information only.
M Message. Messages may have various severities.
W Warning.
E Error. The current command is aborted.
F Fatal. Execution of the program is terminated.

[*0000:] Database error no ** : ** ** ****. Please report error.
A fatal error has occurred. If no further explanation is given the cause is probably a program error.

[*0001] Time curve modifier only valid for existing curves

[*0002:] Incorrect transformation parameters
For example a rotation angle $\gt$180.

[*0003:] Only **** physical properties permitted. Definition ignored

[*0004:] The type **** does not apply here
An invalid combination of type and object was given.

[*0005:] **** is not defined
A reference has been made to an object that has not been previously defined.

[*0006:] String is too long

[*0007:] Invalid input offset

[*0008:] Nothing to process
Normally a set containing no objects to operate on was specified.

[*0009:] Arc centre too close to start or end point on line ****

A set used in a spline line definition must contain the end points of the line.

There are rules for the divisions around a surface or body. Refer to the user manual.

An attempt has been made, for example, to specify a surface element type on a line.

Copy and sweep commands must create new objects.

The boundary is not closed or surfaces are in the wrong order.

Before manual elements can be created, an associated line, surface or body must be defined.

[*0032:] Very short line - ****
The length is less than the distance used for testing coincident points. This may cause problems with, for example, a copy or sweep command.

[*0033:] Part must be point, line, or surface

[*0034:] Lines **** and **** are not connected
There is no common point for the line.

[*0035:] Use other command to define straight line or arc

[*0036:] Failed to move node ****** to given shape
The original position of the node is too far from the shape. Try to redefine the surface.

Lines must be basic lines with one common point for any two consecutive lines.

A surface with points on the axis of rotation in a sweep must have 4 sides and 2 points on the axis.

[*0083:] Automatic division failed on ****
For complicated models the command may fail. The remaining divisions must be made by hand in the usual way.

[*0086:] Points are not spanning plane ****
The three points lie on a straight line.

[*0087:] Incorrect definition of shape
Points are too close or a radius is too small.

[*0088:] Model is too large. Please contact support.

[*0089:] A point defining **** is on cylinder axis.
This is not allowed for the end points of an intersection curve.

Two lines used in a set for a moving load definition forms an angle greater than 5 degrees.

The start point entered in a moving load definition cannot be the start of the loadpath given.

For example, the same point has been used in the definition of a line.

A request to display mesh labels exists in the display list but the mesh has been deleted.

[E2000:] Unable to open file
The requested file cannot be opened.

[E2010:] Illegal interface name

[E2020:] Require a mesh to write to analysis
Mesh data must exist in order for FEMGEN to produce an input data file for a finite element program.

[E2100:] Error with dynamic memory allocation
An error has occurred with the dynamic memory allocation routines. Contact your support centre.

[E2110:] Array not registered for memory allocation
An error has occurred with the dynamic memory allocation routines. Contact your support centre.

[E2120:] Too many memory extents requested
An error has occurred with the dynamic memory allocation routines. Contact your support centre.

[E2130:] Insufficient memory currently available
The dynamic memory allocation routines have requested memory but there is none available.

[E2140:] Bad extent handle
An error has occurred with the dynamic memory allocation routines. Contact your support centre.

[E2150:] Memory not allocated for I/O operation
An error has occurred with the dynamic memory allocation routines. Contact your support centre.

[E2160:] Error on I/O to dynamic memory
An error has occurred with the dynamic memory allocation routines. Contact your support centre.

[E2170:] Cannot register array
An error has occurred with the dynamic memory allocation routines. Contact your support centre.

[E2180:] Page number out of range
An error has occurred with the dynamic memory allocation routines. Contact your support centre.

[E2190:] Array count error
An error has occurred with the dynamic memory allocation routines. Contact your support centre.

[E2200:] Database save aborted
The attempt to save the database to disk has been aborted.

[E2210:] Cannot register array for UNDO
There has been a failure in allocating memory to support the UNDO facility

[E2220:] Cannot recover from UNDO memory
There has been a failure in recovering memory to support the UNDO facility

[E2230:] Cannot save to UNDO memory
There has been a failure in allocating memory to support the UNDO facility

[E2300:] Truck filename must be no more than 20 characters
The name of the truck data file for a moving load is limited to 20 characters.

[E2310:] Identical part cannot be used twice in MPC definition
A geometric part cannot be connected to itself via a MPC. This is checked for MPC RCONNECT and RBEAM.

[E3100:] Cannot find specified file
The specified file containing data to be imported could not be found.

[E3120:] Incorrect model
An incorrect model name has been entered. No such model exists.

[E3130:] Incorrect loadcase
An incorrect loadcase name has been entered. No such loadcase exists.

[E3150:] Incorrect transform
An incorrect transformation number has been entered. No such transformation exists.

[E3160:] Incomplete data for model
Incomplete viewdata exists for this model. The most likely cause is that the program failed when reading in the model to the FEMVIEW data base. The user should delete the model from the data base.

[E3180:] No loadcases exist
No loadcases have been stored for this model.

[E3200:] Incorrect command
A command has been entered which cannot be interpreted by the command processor.

If the user has the standard installation files and libraries then it is possible to increase the size limits and re-link the program to create a new executable to process larger models. The model data in the database will be correct and need not be read again.
