Material Property Definitions

Material data is defined using the FEMGEN command 'PROPERTY MATERIAL type', and attached to any part or set in the model using the FEMGEN command 'PROPERTY ATTACH'. Material types available are MAT and GENERAL.

The number of the arguments required and their meaning depend on the analysis type selected.

For a stress (or dynamic) analysis, up to 5 arguments can be defined with the following meaning:

Argument(s) Meaning
1 Young's Modulus
2 Poisson's Ratio
3 Density
4 Thermal Expansion Coefficient
5 Reference Temperature

For a thermal analysis, only 2 arguments are required:

Argument(s) Meaning
1 Conductivity
2 Capacity
