PROPERTY BOUNDARY PRESCRIBE [name] part dof value [lcas]

This command is used to prescribe a value to a degree of freedom for a particular loadcase (the default is all loadcases). The command has the same effect as the PROPERTY LOAD DISPLACE command but is much more general in that any degree of freedom may be referenced. The degree of freedom names listed below are the defaults; these may be changed via the FEMGV resource file (see the Installation and Customisation Guide).

name = constraint name for use in future references.
part = the name of a point, line, surface, body, or set.
dof = prescribed degree of freedom.
1 or X = x-translation
2 or Y = y-translation
3 or Z = z-translation
4 or RX = x-rotation
5 or RY = y-rotation
6 or RZ = z-rotation
7 or W = beam warping
8 or P = pore pressure
10 or E = electrical potential
11 or T = temperature
value = the value to be assigned to dof
lcas = optional loadcase number

Notes:

1.
Degree of freedom indicator
The degree of freedom may be input as text or an integer. A single degree of freedom must be referenced ie. degree of freedom macros and multiple degree of freedom specifications are not permitted.
2.
Loadcase number
By default the prescribed value will be set for all loadcases but a loadcase identifier may be entered to restrict the effect of the prescribed value.

Examples:

1.
PROPERTY BOUNDARY PRESCRIBE S1 T 273

Set the temperature of all nodes on S1 to 273.
