PROPERTY LOADS FORCE [lname] [lnumb] part [opart] force dof

This command is used to apply a concentrated load in a single cartesian direction.

lname = name of the loadcase, used for later references.
lnumb = loadcase number (integer, default=1).
part = part to be loaded, point, line, surface, body or set.
opart = optional part of next higher order from loaded part, which
contains the elements to be loaded. Only required when there
is ambiguity over which elements are to be loaded. See note 1.
force = size of force, moment or heat flow. This load will be applied on all nodes in
the specified part.
dof = direction (degree of freedom).
1 or X = x-translation
2 or Y = y-translation
3 or Z = z-translation
4 or RX = x-rotation
5 or RY = y-rotation
6 or RZ = z-rotation

Notes:

1.
Ambiguity over which elements are loaded will only arise when the part that is loaded is attached to more than one other part, (for example where a load is applied to a line which is attached to two surfaces). Any ambiguity about which elements will be loaded can be resolved by specifying the part containing the elements to be loaded in the definition of the load.
The command is restricted to only allow certain combinations of parts i.e. point/line, line/surface and surface/body. In the case of sets, a similar relationship is required between the parts in the set.
If the load is to be applied to several of the parts sharing the loaded part, the command should be repeated for each part containing elements.
If the second (optional) part is not given then the load is applied to the part with the lower entity number.

Examples:

1.
PROPERTY LOAD FORCE LO1 1 P1 1023 3

A concentrated load of 1023 along the z axis is applied to P1. This loading is called LO1 in loadcase 1.

2.
PROPERTY LOADS FORCE L201 S25 1200 NORMAL

A series of nodel loads are applied to the elements attached to line L201 and forming part of S25. The load direction will be in the plane of S25. If line L201 is not part of surface S25 then an error message will be generated.
