· The chart shows one-hour strengths of materials measured at high temperatures. For a 10,000 hour component life, values would be lower.
· The diagram indicates that to go to higher temperature regions, ceramic materials must be developed for engineering use.
· Ceramic matrix composites may be required to meet the needs of the mechanical applications.
