· Material properties depend upon their bonding type.
· The diagram shows the range of values that can be expected for the elastic constant, Young's modulus, E, measured in GPa (GN/m2). This quantity scales the elastic response of a material subjected to an applied stress, σ, through Hooke's law:
σ = E ε
where e is the strain produced by the applied stress.
