Heat Treatment of Steel
· Steel products are frequently heat treated after fabrication to provide the properties required for their task. This process permits a wider range of property control than following a simple T-T-T or C-C-T path.

· Temperature ranges for heat treating carbon steel alloys of various compositions are shown on the phase diagram.
