Working Principles
HAP assists the inmate population in their time
of need by providing guidance through a set of
principles to be followed in everyday life:
LOVE
A determination to express affection and loyalty
towards our families and friends.
COMMUNICATION
The search for a better understanding and
knowledge in all relations with human beings.
AWARENESS
Comprehension with wisdom and without malice,
through common sense and justice.
CULTURE
The customs of a race or national group that
flow with pride from generation to generation.
EDUCATION
The path towards knowledge; a method to
recognize the great values of life to grow and
evolve.
FAMILY
The source of our faith and hope; our heart’s
reason to move forward in search of progress.
HONESTY
Respect and integrity demonstrated to oneself
and others; the purest sincerity in our actions
and promises.
JUSTICE
Our sense of equity and fair play based on
cultural, religious, and moral precepts.
FREEDOM
The most sacred right possessed by human beings,
to be conserved at all costs.
PROGRESS
The path designed by good thinking and work
guiding us towards success.
RESPONSIBILITY
The willingness to sacrifice for each other in
order to reach our goals with pride and dignity.
UNITY
The force that eradicates selfishness and
generates brotherhood. In unity there is
strength.
