Outdoor Action offers a broad range of resources to the Princeton University community. We also provide information about our programs on leadership, outdoor education and building an outdoor program to users everywhere. We hope that you'll benefit from our over 40 years of experience in outdoor and leadership education.
In 2010 the Outdoor Action Program was moved into the Vice President for Campus Life Office after fourteen years of being administratively managed by the Princeton-Blairstown Center. This report was written to explore and envision how Outdoor Action could play a significant role on campus.
Participants on the Outdoor Action Frosh Trip Program not only make new friends and learn about Princeton but also learn about how Princeton is making sustainability a critical part of campus life. Students return to campus with new information about how they can act more sustainably on campus and at home.
Teaching environmental sustainability has always been a core principle of Outdoor Action. Thanks to the generous support of the Feather Foundation OA has been able to significantly enhance our sustainability education program.
The Outdoor Action Frosh Trip program is a Princeton University orientation program that gives incoming freshmen the opportunity to start college on a multi-day backpacking trip with their future friends and peers. Outdoor Action has always been aware of its unique opportunity to influence Princeton’s students, since it is responsible for giving more than half of each incoming class one of its first Princeton experiences. Princeton University Farmers' Market returns to Firestone Plaza. The market features Jersey Fresh produce, locally-made breads, nut butters, cheeses, organic sandwiches and salads, honey, cold pressed juices, gluten-free baked goods and cooking demonstrations. Wednesdays; April 13-May 11; 11 am-3 pm; Firestone Library/Chapel Plaza.
