In October of 2013, the leaders of the Princeton Gates-Millenium Scholars, Princeton LEDA Scholars, and Princeton University Quest Scholars Network came together and founded the Princeton Hidden Minority Council with the goal of building the infrastructure for a thriving first-generation low income community at Princeton.
These students were not satisfied with the silence that existed regarding socio-economic background and experience on Princeton's campus; believing that acceptance comes out of understanding, and understanding comes out of education. Since then we have grown to a board of over thirty individuals, and a community of over two hundred students and faculty. We are committed to serving as representatives for the first-generation and low income community along with our peers, and hope to live up to the vision and mission of Princeton Hidden Minority Council.
