SUMMER
WORK PROGRAM
DEPARTMENT OF GERMAN • PRINCETON UNIVERSITY
Application Dates and Procedures for the 2005 Summer Work Study Program
Step
1:
Print and complete the SWP Application Form (download a PDF of the form
here). The completed form has to be turned in to
the
Program
by
Friday,
October 15, 2004.
Put a hard copy of the form into the SWP Mail Box in the German Department Lounge (207 East Pyne Building). Please note that you must attach a photograph of yourself to the application.
Step 2:
Print a copy of the SWP Language Reference Form (download
a PDF of the form here). The form is to be completed by your German language
professor or instructor, or by another instructor who is familiar with your
German
language
competence. Ask your professor or instructor to send the form
to the SWP office by Monday,
November 1, 2004.
Step 3:
When you hand in your SWP Application Form, sign up for an interview.
Sign-up sheets will be posted outside the SWP office (204 East
Pyne Building). Your
20-minute German-language interview will take place in the
week of November 1, 2004 (i.e. right after the Fall
Recess).
Step 4:
If you are admitted into the Program, you will be notified
by mid-November. Admission into the SWP means that we agree
to place
you in an internship
for the summer of 2005. Admission does not mean that a suitable
position is guaranteed. We do our best, however, to place
all qualified applicants
in appropriate jobs.
**Once you have confirmed your acceptance of the admission, you are committed to participating in the program.**
Immediately apply for a passport, if you do not yet have one.
Step 5:
You will receive your job assignment by late February,
2005. Make your travel arrangements as early as possible
after
you find out
about the precise dates
of your internship.
