Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the Communications Reading Group?
Most of us want to know more about a particular subject in the field, but are procrastinating. The Communications Reading Group is a student-run initiative to motivate members to learn various subjects. We are starting with informal presentations/tutorials/discussions among students, although to facilitate discussion, the meetings may require preparation by reading from papers or parts of a textbook. This is also a great opportunity to interact with other graduate students and post-docs at Princeton.
  • What are the group's goals?
    1. To broaden and study in-depth current research topics in digital communication, from the physical layer perspective to the system perspective, and to strengthen our understanding of the topics and facilitate discussion across various research groups.
    2. To integrate with ISS seminar topics. This will facilitate discussions with the ISS speakers.
    3. To increase the communication between graduate students, post-docs and faculty.
    4. To provide occasional tutorial on techniques used and special topics in communications from inside/outside speaker or student group, e.g., IEEE Information Theory student society.
  • When do you meet?
We are scheduled to meet every Wednesday at 12pm. Lunch will be provided at our meetings! Please see our web site for more details.
  • Can I join the group?
