Faculty & Former Students Laud Joyce Carol Oates

A panel of former students and an audience of friends, fans and colleagues gathered Friday to celebrate Joyce Carol Oates, who will retire from full-time teaching in the spring after 36 years of what participants described as encouraging, deeply committed, tough, loving, and often wickedly funny instruction in the art of writing fiction.
