Event details
Princeton University Orchestra: Britten & Tchaikovsky
Princeton University Orchestra presents a program of striking contrasts. The concert opens with Britten's Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes, a set of orchestral tableaux that capture the shifting moods of the English coast. The program concludes with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 in E minor, "Pathétique," the composer's final symphonic statement — a work of sweeping emotional depth, from turbulent unrest to quiet, devastating resignation.
Conducted by Michael Pratt, Professor of the Practice, Director of Program in Music Performance, and Director of Princeton University Orchestra.
