Welcome
The Workshop on Turbulence in High Speed Flow
will be held on May 2 - 4, 2011 at Princeton University
University, New Jersey, USA.
The Workshop was initiated by the AIAA FDTC DG on High Speed Turbulence.
The aims of the workshop are to provide a forum for experts in the field to consider the problem of turbulence in high speed flows, to report their latest findings, and, above all, to engage in meaningful discussions on the underlying physics, to develop new directions for future research, and to foster new collaborations.
Theme
The critical assessment of our understanding of the heat transfer and skin friction behavior in turbulent boundary layers and shock wave turbulent boundary layer interactions. Discussions will focus on:
- assessing existing numerical and experimental data in terms of, for example, quality, scope, boundary conditions and completeness, and assessing current experimental and numerical capabilities for these flows
- defining the need for specific new numerical and physical experiments, and for specific new experimental and numerical tools
Participation in this workshop is by invitation only. If you are invited please send, before February 28, the following information by email to
Lex Smits (asmits@princeton.edu):
- Name, affiliation, email address
- Title of proposed presentation
- Any additional relevant information
