Whenever FEMGV is executed the security file fgvkey.k60 is examined. The pathname of the directory containing the security file is obtained from an environment variable FGVKEY. If this variable does not exist then an attempt is made to open the file fgvkey.k60 in the current directory.
If FEMGV fails to locate the keyfile the following error will be printed:
=============================
ERROR >> OPENING KEYFILE
CONTACT YOUR SUPPORT CENTRE
=============================
If a checksum error or a syntax error is encountered in decoding the keyfile the following error will be printed:
========================================
ERROR < nn > ON DECODING KEYFILE
CONTACT YOUR SUPPORT CENTRE FOR ADVICE
========================================
This message usually results from a mis-typing of the keyfile; the user should check that the keyfile details have been entered correctly before reporting the error code nn to their support centre.
Using an old, incompatible keyfile will result in Error 3 being generated.

FEMGV looks for a start-up file fgvstr.str whenever it is executed. The pathname of the directory containing this file is given by the environment variable FGVSTR. If this variable is not set then the current working directory is used.
Similarly, FGVSYN is used in order to locate the synonym startup file, fgvsyn.syn
FEMSYS_INIT and FEMSYS_GLOBAL_INIT are used to specify the location of the User and Global Resource Files. See Chapter 6.3 for more details.
