Property Definitions

The property definition section is defined using a variety of cards and is preceded by the following comments:

The element sets defined earlier in the input file are grouped into higher-order property sets by the interface. All elements with the same type, variant, material and physical property will be grouped into a single element set. An ABAQUS element property definition is then assigned to each property set. Some element types need physical property definitions, others do not. The interface will issue a warning if an element requires a physical property and none has been assigned or if a property is required and an incorrect property type has been assigned.

Physical property data is defined using the command 'PROPERTY PHYSICAL ...', and applied to parts or sets using the command 'PROPERTY ATTACH ...'. The following physical property types are available under the 'PROPERTY PHYSICAL' command:
