Distributing Coupling

Nodes and weighting for distributing coupling elements can be specified by using the command:

PROPERTY BOUNDARY GENERAL Part1 1 Part2 1 weight_factor

where one of the two parts must be either a point with a DCOUP* element attached or a set that includes DCOUP* elements, the other part can be a FEMGEN point, line, surface, body or set. The second and fourth arguments are dummy parameters that are not used here.

Example of a FEMGEN command and the corresponding ABAQUS input file:

PROPERTY BOUNDARY GENERAL S1 1 P4 1 0.850    

*NSET, NSET=NODS1      
   27   28   29   30   31   32   33   34   35   36   37   38   39   40

If a mass was attached to the DCOUP* element(s) (via the command PROPERTY PHYSICAL GENERAL), this mass will be written on the distributing coupling card.
