Urban centers tend to develop in locations to which transportation is easy. Water plays an important role in the transportation of goods and people with rivers, lakes and the open sea providing low cost routes. The picture shows the rice market area of Camau, a city in Minh Hai province, Vietnam. Large loads are carried in long narrow boats propelled with oars or outboard motors.
