Copper
and nickel are completely soluble in
each other both in the liquid and the solid phase. The alloy composition
is selected to give the desired properties.
· The binary phase diagram for the copper (Cu) nickel (Ni) system shows the temperature dependence of phase stability as a function of the alloy composition. · Two zones exist in which the alloy is either solid or liquid, and there is also a two- phase zone in which the solid α and the liquid L are in mutual equilibrium. |
