The American Society of Civil Engineers was founded in 1852 and is currently the oldest national engineering society in America. Today, ASCE has over 140,000 members worldwide. According to their website, ASCE's mission is to "provide essential value to our members and partners, advance civil engineering, and serve the public good."
The Princeton University Student Chapter of ASCE was founded in 1929 to engage students in the practical aspects of a civil engineering education. Members stem from all concentration areas in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and all class years from sophomore to senior.
