The benefits of green roofs on urban landscapes and campuses such as Princeton's are explored in excerpts from a student-produced documentary.

Anyone strolling through Princeton's campus this fall can see, hear, touch, smell and even taste the University's ongoing sustainability efforts through a range of projects that progressed this summer. The Office of Sustainability, working with various University departments, oversees programs that promote interactive ways to experience Princeton's achievements in conserving resources, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable research and education.

From top to bottom, Butler will be a living environmental laboratory .

When 283 Princeton undergraduates move into Butler College this September, they will be entering a 113,000-square-foot complex integrating sustainability features from top to bottom, including the green roofs on more than half of its buildings and a stormwater cistern that will collect and recycle rainwater to irrigate courtyard landscaping.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the founding of Princeton University's Office of Sustainability, the hub that supports, monitors and connects initiatives across campus focused on cultivating positive global and local impacts in the environment.

Princeton continues progress on sustainability goals, enters new phase of plan .

Princeton University's greenhouse gas emissions have remained below 2008 levels for three years, and campus water usage and landfill waste each have declined by 13 percent since 2006. These key achievements are noted in the University's third annual Sustainability Report, published online Nov. 9.

Center for African American Studies to screen documentaries .
