UPDATE: Lawrence Apartments building cleared for occupation

Shortly before 10 a.m. the Princeton Fire Department responded to a report of the odor of gas at Lawrence Apartments. A resident in one of the buildings reported the odor to University staff, who notified the Fire Department after detecting gas levels. Four individuals were evacuated from the building. No injuries were reported. The Department of Public Safety, Site Protection, Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad and PSE&G also responded.

The cause of the odor was determined to be a leak in a gas line. Repairs are complete and service has been restored. The building was cleared for occupation.
