The China Energy Group hosted the 2nd annual member meeting on April 24, 2014 at Princeton University campus. The meeting brought together more than 30 members of the CEG community.
Visiting scholars, graduate students, and undergrads from more than 11 departments across Princeton University met to discuss China energy related topic and research advances.
In the meeting, Hao Chen, the co-president of CEG, introduced the current status of CEG development by summarizing the activities during the past year, introducing new members to the group, and plotting plans for the next year.
The two invited talks are well received in the meeting. Dr. Robert Williams, the Senior Research Scientist at Energy Systems Analysis Group in Princeton University, gave a talk entitled “Toward us/china collaboration to get the faltering global CO2 capture and storage enterprise back on track”, introducing the current situation of CO2 capture/storage collaboration between US and China, as well as potential opportunities and challenges. The second talk, presented by Youhua Tian, a VSRC in Geoscience department, was entitled “Prospect applications of CO2-heat pump in China”. Youhua introduced a high efficiency CO2-heat pump that is promising to replace the coal-burning residential heating in winter. He also described his entrepreneur practice in China on CO2-heat pump.
