Photo: The Bassin d'Arcachon
The Bassin d'Arcachon, with its sandy beaches and delicious sea food, is about an hour's train ride away from Bordeaux
The cliffside of the le Moustier site, in the Dordogne, where we will have a picnic during our tour.   Photo :The cliffside of the le Moustier site

A Mammoth from the cave site of Rouffignac in the Dordogne. Although this image is a modern drawing (purchased at the book shop at the site), during our visit to the cave, we will look at the original art, which is found on the ceiling deep inside this cave, bunched in with many other beautiful images of animals. Indeed, so deep is the cave that it is necessary to take a train to reach the drawings.
The famous horse painting from Pech Merle, in the Lot region of southwest France. More than 20,000 years old, we will visit this cave and view this art work during one of our tours.
Hand stencils are found in many Paleolithic caves. We will see many during our visits.
