In a region as volatile as the Middle East , intelligence is particularly vital to the exercise of statecraft. As part of PICSIM, the Mossad Task Force is designed to reflect the importance of intelligence organizations in the politics of the Middle East . The Task Force is a special unit of the Israeli intelligence apparatus empowered to operate in a largely autonomous manner. While its duties include intelligence gathering, it has the capability to directly influence regional affairs through covert action, paramilitary operations, and psychological warfare, among other means.

It is important to note that this committee is not designed to be an exact representation of the Mossad or any of its units. Because of the committee-based nature of the conference (and because of the secrecy of real-life Mossad operations), a perfectly accurate simulation is impossible. However, the Mossad Task Force will be one of the most fast-paced and dynamic committees of the conference. Delegates to this committee will be expected to "think outside the box" and to develop creative strategies to influence the affairs of the region.
