Frequently Asked Questions

6. We are hosting a departmental event at Prospect House. Can we bring our own alcohol?
As per our liquor license, all departmental events held at Prospect House must purchase all
alcohol through Prospect House. Outside alcohol for departmental (and member) events is
not permitted. We are happy to work with you to serve your requested product(s) for your
event.

7. Do Prospect or Palmer Houses include any décor or centerpieces?
Both houses provide a warm atmosphere and any décor from simple to over-the-top works
well. We are happy to provide you suggestions for local florists and designers. We do not
permit items to be attached to walls with any ground scattering (rice, petals etc.) or open flames.

8. My neighbor’s daughter is getting married. Can I sponsor her for her wedding at
Prospect or Palmer House? She is like a daughter to me.

Members (Full-time and retired faculty and staff) and non-members (graduate students and
alumni) are welcome to host a truly social affair (wedding, birthday, mitzvah etc.) at
Prospect House for themselves or to honor an immediate family member (domestic partner,
grandparent, spouse, sibling, child, and grandchild).

9. Can I host an outside company meeting or holiday party at Prospect or Palmer House?
All outside groups with a 501c3 should contact Conference and Event Services to determine
eligibility.  Please contact CES@princeton.edu with your proposed event details. For-profit
groups are not permitted to use our facilities.
