Gretchen Hoffmann ’13 Assistant Artistic Director
Gretchen has been dancing since she was three years old and is beyond excited to be dancing with BodyHype now that she's at Princeton.  She began taking class at Dance Etc. School of Performing Arts in Newtown, Connecticut, where she continued to study until she graduated from high school.  In her time at Dance Etc., Gretchen took classes in jazz, tap, lyrical, ballet, point, modern, and hip hop, and taught jazz, ballet, tap, and hip hop classes.  In sixth grade, Gretchen began competing in regional competitions with the Dance Etc. Dance Team, receiving top scoring distinctions at competitions such as Starpower, StarSystems, StarQuest, and Showbiz. In addition to dancing at Dance Etc., Gretchen was the co-founder and co-captain of the Newtown High School Dance Ensemble, a jazz-based dance team at her high school that performed at basketball games and community events.  She has also performed with Dancers Responding to AIDS in benefit performances and was featured a soloist in 'Tis the Season, a holiday performance. Now that she's at Princeton, Gretchen is thrilled to be dancing with BodyHype, her new family.  She is also taking classes under the dance department and performed in three numbers in the Senior Dance Thesis show last fall.  As of right now (even though it's early), Gretchen plans to major in molecular biology with a certificate in dance.
