Jen Oswald 11

Jen started dancing at the age of three with the Lutherville-Timonium Recreational Council in Baltimore, Maryland. By the age of seven, she began taking formal dance classes at the Towson University Children’s Dance Division (TUCDD) where she received training in ballet, jazz, tap, and modern dance under the direction of Gloria Lang. She was accepted into the TUCDD Troupe by artistic director Karen Muccioli at age thirteen, and continued to perform with the company nationwide for the next five years at venues such as The Morris Mechanic Theater in Baltimore, Walt Disney World in Orlando, and DancePlace in Washington D.C. Her dance education was supplemented by summer training at national dance academies such as Houston Ballet Academy, Joffrey Ballet School, and the Point Park University. Jen attended Carver Center for the Arts and Technology, a public, magnet high school where she majored in dance. While at Carver Center, Jen received training from Amanda Thom-Woodson, Elizabeth Lowe-Ahearn, and Stephanie Powel in modern, ballet, and dance composition. Jen has choreographed several works on fellow students and received the Departmental Award in Dance Technique. She graduated as valedictorian of her class in 2007. As a junior at Princeton, Jen has been an active member of the Dance Department in addition to joining BodyHype, and is working avidly on her major in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Jen can’t imagine Princeton without the support of each BodyHype member and all the incredibly supportive fans!
