Jennie Scholick hails from one of the nuttiest and most
beautiful places in the US, the SF Bay Area, and entered BodyHype as a total bunhead, and despite valiant efforts on the part of the
Company, hasn’t quite managed to shed that “ballerina look”
(aka, look for her in the back row of any hip-hop piece). She grew up
training with former principal dancers from the San Francisco Ballet and the
National Ballet of Canada at Marin Ballet under the directorship of Cynthia
Lucas. Jennie has attended summer dance intensives at BalletMet Columbus, Boston Ballet, American Ballet
Theater, and the White Mountain Summer Dance Festival. Jennie has also
created roles in works by former SFB dancers Robert Sund
and Julia Adam. In high school, she danced with the Branson School’s
Dance Performance Ensemble, a group of six advanced dancers coached by former
ODC/SF dancer Tammy Cheney. She is a member of the Princeton Program in
Theater and Dance, and is majoring in Comparative Literature with an emphasis
in dance studies. Jennie is slightly addicted to ballet class, coffee
(namely Small World), cookies (preferably the U-store chocolate chip ones),
chocolate covered pretzels, CVS, mascara, and the color pink.
