About Us

Our Vision

The vision of the Princeton Hidden Minority Council is to extinguish the stigma associated with being a first-generation or low income student. By embracing this characteristic that has helped to shape our perspective and identity, we can support each other more, give insight to our experience that a majority of the population at Princeton may never have been exposed to, and allow Princeton to feel more like home quicker than it has taken for students in this community in the past.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple; we want to advocate for the first-generation and low income voices that aren't being heard, which is seen primarily through the lack of dialogue on campus and the stigma that is attached to this part of a student's identity. In order to accomplish this we intend on connecting students with the resources that currently exist, analyzing what additional resources could be beneficial, fostering a stronger community by sharing our narratives with each other, and providing insight to the larger Princeton community on what it can be like to be surrounded by such an unfamiliar financial environment.
