Welcome to the Wilson College Council Website!

Welcome to the website of the Wilson College Council. The Council is composed of 20 sophomores and juniors dedicated to improving life within Wilson College. We frequently work with the College Office to bring you things like our annual college gear giveaways, the Mr. Wilson pageant, and our summer send-off bash with Butler College.

We hope this website provides you with quick access to some of the resources available to you during your time at Princeton. Above all, our goal is to serve Wilson College, so if you have any concerns, comments, or suggestions about this site or life in Wilson, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Come celebrate with a Week of Service!

Now that midterms are over, and you've fully adjusted to being (back) at Princeton, come help us celebrate community service in Wilson College. Sure, you might have spent Fall Break as a couch potato, instead of embodying the spirit in which the (student-initiated!) tradition was first instituted, but that doesn't make it too late to help out!

Rather than being simply a single one-week service project, the Wilson Week of Service (WWoS) (November 12-19) is designed to encourage consistent and sustained participation in community service by Wilsonites. The WWoS is intended to help you find a way to give back that suits your interests and the demands on your time -- it's over 20 Student Volunteers Council projects (tutoring, music outreach, blood drives, and more!), plus presentations and panel discussions with Woodrow Wilson School professors and graduate students. Sign-ups are November 9-11 during lunch and dinner (immediately outside Wilcox Dining Hall). If you have questions, please email Civic Engagement Co-Chairs Destiny Ortega and Chenyu Zheng.

Join the 1st Annual Mug-a-Thon (Friday, November 13)!

Looking for that special gift this holiday season? We know we've said it a thousand times, but there's nothing quite like that handmade gift. If nothing else, it's a tradition that hearkens back to the paper Christmas tree ornaments of kindergarden and pre-K, but now you've got the motor skills (and possibly some artistic talent) to make something a little more elaborate.

Whether you never made it past Play-Doh or you're a veteran mudslinger, the Ceramics Studio has everything you need to make the perfect holiday mug, so be sure to stop by the basement of 1938 Hall some time between 11 am and 6 pm! (And thank you to Debbie Reichard, for part of the text above)

An Interview with Master Eduardo Cadava

We had the opportunity this summer to speak with Eduardo Cadava, a Professor of English, who became Master of Wilson College this July. He was impressively thorough in his responses, especially for someone vacationing in beautiful Mykonos, Greece! You can read the interview here.

Welcome, freshmen, and welcome back, sophomores!

We hope you're looking forward to an exciting year filled with fun events and activities brought to you by the WCC!

Freshmen: Once again, welcome to Wilson College (for the fourth or fifth time). The first few weeks can be a little overwhelming, so we've compiled a list of things that we wish we knew when we were freshmen, in the hopes of making your transition a little easier. You can find it all here.

Sophomores: We hope you enjoy this year in Wilson, as much as, if not more than, last year. We will obviously continue to strive to do our best in serving all of Wilson College, but if there's anything you think we're not doing or that we can do better, please let us know.

As always, we're happy to talk to you. Please click on the About Us link at left for the appropriate contact information, and good luck this year!

Meetings

The Wilson College Council meets as an assembly once a week during the semester, although members meet as often as their positions require.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to navigate to the Suggestions page from the menu at the left.
