Briana Beamon was born and raised in Charlotte, NC, which is where she started dancing at the age of three. She began dancing competitively when she was in the fourth grade and continued to compete for the next six years. Throughout the time that she competed, Briana received high-scoring awards and recognition. In 2003, she performed at Showstopper Talent Competition and made it to the final round, which was televised on NBC. When Briana stopped dancing competitively, she began studying at the Piedmont Dance Conservatory, where she also taught classes and choreographed pieces for the company. Upon arrival at Princeton, Briana was immediately impressed by Bodyhype and was overjoyed to become a member. Through Bodyhype, she has continued dancing and choreographing, both of which she feels fortunate to be doing with such a talented group of people. After serving as treasurer of the company in her second semester, Briana got to see not only the artistic side but also the business aspect of managing a student group. Briana welcomes the opportunities that are awarded her by being at Princeton and hopes to take full advantage of them. She plans to major in Psychology and eventually get her doctorate in order to become a clinical psychologist. Briana is so excited to be a member of such an amazing company of not only talented dancers but also one full of extraordinary people.
