BECHDEL FILM CLUB + PRINDIE FILM FEST

The Princeton Independent Film Festival grew out of a love of using film to take people out of their everyday lives and into new points of view. Join us for the the kick-off to the festival where we will feature some truly amazing films! Schedule of events:Screening: Le ClitorisWomen are lucky, they get to have the only organ in the human body dedicated exclusively for pleasure: the clitoris! In this humorous and instructive animated documentary, find out its unrecognized anatomy and its unknown herstory.Screening: Hold OnA short film about a talented cellist who develops crippling stage fright after a major mistake during one of her performances. Break and Discussion led by Teresa Irigoyen-Lopez, '19 and Tess Jacobson, '19.Screening: Most Beautiful Island This feature length film, and SXSW Grand Prize winning film, is a chilling portrait of an undocumented young woman's struggle for survival as she finds redemption from a tortured past in a dangerous game.Q&A with Most Beautiful Island writer-director-star Ana Asenio.Both Hold On and Most Beautiful Island pass the Bechdel test, created by Allison Bechdel, which highlights how women are underrepresented in film. There are three simple criterion:1. There must be two women in the film, both with names2. The two women must talk to each other3.
