Makerspace Nights at the Library: National DNA Day
To mark National DNA Day on April 25, we will explore the structure of DNA and learn about the history and impact of the Human Genome Project. Participants will get a chance to extract their own DNA using household products. Paul Durst from Princeton University’s Council on Science and Technology will be on hand to lead the activities, and answer questions about DNA, genetics, and the human genome.
National DNA Day commemorates the completion of the Human Genome Project in April 2003 and the discovery of the double helix of DNA in 1953.
