FOCUS Presents: “Writing About Our Identities” online panel discussion with Professor Tracy K. Smith

The Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Students is proud to introduce FOCUS, a series of events designed to encourage anti-racist scholarship and action throughout the Princeton community.

The next FOCUS event, “Writing About Our Identities,” will be an online panel discussion with Professor Tracy K. Smith, who was named U.S. Poet Laureate in 2017 and is currently the chair of the Lewis Center of the Arts. She will be joined in conversation with Morgan Jerkins ’14, a visiting professor at Columbia University and the New York Times bestselling author of This Will Be My Undoing and Wandering in Strange Lands, and Rakesh Satyal ’02, who is an executive editor at HarperOne and the Lambda Award-winning author of the novels Blue Boy and No One Can Pronounce My Name. The panelists will discuss the role of personal identities in art and in activism.
