The proposed event will be an engaging and interactive conversation on Akwaeke Emezi's trajectory as an artist in the diaspora, from their role and influence on the cultural and socio-political landscape of the continent and beyond to their experiences, creative process and their publications as an author. Because of their beautiful writing which speaks to queer African identities, which is a very relevant topic for many young Africans in decolonising our identities, we would be honoured to have them as a voice to inspire the students, faculty and alumni who will attend the event.
