Freedom's Captives: Slavery and Emancipation in Colombia
The Colombian Studies Group at Princeton will be hosting Rutgers University Assistant Professor Yesenia Barragan, who will be presenting her research and recent book "Freedom's Captives: Slavery and Gradual Emancipation on the Colombian Black Pacific" which was just awarded the Wesley-Logan Prize in African diaspora history by the American Historical Association and the Association for the Study of African American Life & History. The event will be open to the community and will feature an introduction and discussion by Nicolás Sánchez Rodríguez.
